It’s so easy to be involved with roller derby in Western Sydney!
Spectators
It’s our spectators that make our bouts spectacular! Come along and see our newer skaters mix it up with hard-core derby veterans in bouts that will have you on the edge of your seat.
WSR home season bouts are held at the Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre, Herbert Street, Cambridge Park.
For derby action further afield, check out our representative team, The Boutlaws. The Boutlaws players are hand-picked and play leagues locally and away. Upcoming Boutlaws bouts will be advertised here on our website, and on our facebook and Twitter channels, so check back regularly for updates.
Players
Considered playing roller derby but didn’t know how to start? Let us help you realise your derby dreams! New skater intakes are held every year and no skating experience is required. Whether you want to play or ref, we’ll help you learn the basics, and take you through each skill you’ll need to become a derby superstar.
If you’re already an experienced skater or derby player, come along and we’ll slot you into the group that best meets your level of skill and development.
Referees
For those who love derby and who want to skate without the full-contact of actually playing, refereeing might be a perfect fit for you. With six to seven refs on the track at each bout, you’ll have the opportunity to skate and be a part of our amazing sport. Consider being a part of Team Zebra and tasting the stripey side of life!
Volunteers
Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our game. Whether you’d like to learn to lay the track, be a Non-Skating Official, a commentator or DJ, we have loads of opportunities to get involved in derby without actually putting skates on your feet.
